Dates and Events

Dates should be written in the order spoken, but simplified.

Examples:

  • “the second of June twentyfourteen” = ‘2 June, 2014’.
  • “June the second” = ‘June 2’.

Historical events should be written with their official spelling and capitalization.

Examples:

  • “the second world war” = “the Second World War”.
  • “world war two” = “World War II”.
