How Do I Edit My Closed Captions Order?

Once your Recorded Media file has been captioned, you can view your Closed Captions and make any changes you’d like using our Simple Caption Editor.

Caption Editor Features

The Simple Caption Editor allows you to:

  • View your media with captions
  • Run a spell check on your captions
  • Change the text of each and any caption
  • Add or delete captions
  • Change the caption timings

Launch the Editor

To start editing one of your captioned files, navigate to your My Orders page and find the file you’d like to edit. You can then click the yellow Edit button to launch into our Simple Caption Editor and watch your captions or make any changes.

How to Use the Editor

All the Simple Caption Editor controls can be seen at the bottom of the editor at all times.

Your caption blocks (formatted lines of text) are shown in the top-right pane, where you can click to edit the text, delete a block, or add a new blank caption.

Below that is the caption timeline, which you can use to align each caption with the spoken audio.

Don’t worry if you make a mistake – you can always click Revert to Original to undo any changes you’ve made to your captions.

Once you’re done editing your captions, click Save & Exit to save your file and return to your My Orders list. When you download your file using the Download button, you’ll get a file with your personal edits!
