What do I need to do if Ooona tells me there are blank subtitles found?

If blank subtitles are exported from Ooona, the finished SRT file will be invalid. This means it won’t be able to be viewed alongside the media when it’s delivered to the customer.

When you export your task, Ooona will let you know if there are empty subtitles, seen in the pop-up message in the screenshot below.

If you receive this pop-up message, you need to delete the empty caption blocks. Note down the caption numbers – in this example, caption #10 is blank.

Click ‘NO’ on the pop-up seen above to close the message.

Press Ctrl+G to open the ‘Go To’ window. Type in the caption number under ‘Index’ and click ‘JUMP TO INDEX’ to navigate to that caption in the Subtitle Table.

Ensure your cursor is inside the blank caption block and press Shift+Backspace to delete.

When the confirmation message pop-up appears, click ‘YES’ to delete the blank caption.

Repeat these steps for all blank captions.
